Wasim Akram Praises PSL Over IPL
Wasim Akram, a famous former cricketer from Pakistan, recently spoke at an event to promote the Pakistan Super League (PSL) in London.
He joked that the Indian Premier League (IPL) never ends because it lasts for more than two months, while the PSL is much shorter, lasting only about 35 days.
He said that players prefer the shorter duration of the PSL and that it has the best talent.
Even though he thinks the IPL is still the best league in the world, he believes the PSL is quickly catching up.
Some people agree with him and think the PSL is better because it's shorter and has great players, while others think the IPL is better because it's longer and has more teams.
Wasim Akram criticized the IPL's long duration during a PSL promotional event at Lord's.
He praised the PSL for its shorter duration of 34-35 days, making it more exciting and manageable for players.
Akram noted that foreign players prefer the shorter duration of the PSL over longer leagues like the IPL.
He cited the Big Bash League's decision to shorten its season as proof that leaner tournaments strike the right balance.
Despite his praise for the PSL, Akram conceded that the IPL remains the global benchmark for cricket leagues.
