Supreme Court to Hear Colaba Jetty Plea Quickly
Imagine some people are building a dock (jetty) in a place called Colaba.
Some residents don't like it and went to court.
The Supreme Court, which is like the head court, told another court, the Bombay High Court, to quickly listen to everyone and decide if the dock can be built.
The Supreme Court also said the Bombay High Court should make its own decision and not worry about what the Supreme Court said before.
The people who don't want the dock have to explain why, and the court will consider all the arguments before making a decision.
The court also noted that the petitioners filed their challenge at the last minute.
Supreme Court directed Bombay High Court to expedite hearing on the Colaba jetty construction plea.
The Supreme Court addressed a petition by the Clean and Heritage Colaba Residents Association regarding the construction.
SC stated that the Bombay HC should make its decision without being influenced by its prior comments.
HC noted that the construction work's final outcome depends on the ongoing petitions.
The HC denied relief to the association, citing the timing of the petition.
