Janhvi Kapoor’s Treatment Raises Questions About Industry Support
A disturbing AI-made video used a song and images connected to actor Janhvi Kapoor.
Actors Junior NTR and Chiranjeevi spoke out against it, and Junior NTR asked people not to share it.
The writer appreciates that support but asks why the film industry did not speak up as clearly when Kapoor faced criticism for how her character was treated in Peddi.
The article says films have often shown women in objectifying ways or treated harmful behavior as romance.
The writer believes women deserve respect because they are people, not because they belong to a man’s family.
The article ends by praising a film that shows a man putting a woman’s well-being first.
An altered version of “Chuttamalle” featuring Janhvi Kapoor was condemned as a degrading AI video.
Junior NTR and Chiranjeevi publicly denounced the video; Junior NTR urged people not to watch or share it and warned of legal action.
The article contrasts the industry’s response to the video with its silence over criticism of Kapoor’s portrayal in Peddi.
The author argues that the film industry has long normalized and profited from objectifying women and blurring consent.
The writer calls for women to be respected in their own right and for films to portray men as considerate and restrained.
