Claude Cowork and Chat Merge Memory for Smoother Workflows

Claude Chat and Claude Cowork can now remember the same information.

Before this change, users might have had to explain a project again when switching between them.

Now, Cowork may already know details discussed with Claude Chat.

This could help people move from planning to doing without starting over.

Claude can update its memory while a conversation is still happening.

Sensitive information is usually not saved automatically.

Users can allow some sensitive topics to be remembered and will be notified when that happens.

Some information, such as Social Security numbers and government identification, will not be saved.
