Andhra Pradesh Accelerates Wetland Conservation Efforts

Andhra Pradesh Accelerates Wetland Conservation Efforts

The government of Andhra Pradesh is working quickly to protect wetlands in the state.

Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan has told officials to speed up the process of identifying and conserving these important areas.

One special wetland called Kondakarla Ava in Anakapalli district is being considered for protection under a law called the Wildlife (Protection) Act.

This wetland is home to many birds and could be a great place for eco-tourism, which would create jobs for local people while keeping the environment safe.

The government has identified 950 wetlands in the state and is working to protect them all.

They are also making sure that conservation efforts do not harm irrigation, reservoirs, or other important services.
