Puri Temple Ratna Bhandar Door to be Silver Clad
Imagine the temple's treasure room door is getting a makeover!
The main door of the Ratna Bhandar, which holds the temple's valuable items, is getting a new door made of strong wood, and covered in shiny silver.
This is happening to make sure the treasure is extra safe and to honor the temple's history.
The design will look like old temples from a long, long time ago.
The old wooden door will be kept safe inside the temple.
The temple is also replacing the old iron grill with a new one.
The people in charge are making sure everything is done carefully, hiring skilled workers, and using lots of silver to protect the temple's treasures.
The main door of Jagannath Temple's Ratna Bhandar will be covered with over 300 kg of silver.
The door will be made of Burma teak and feature silver cladding.
The design will be inspired by ancient Kalinga period temple architecture.
The old wooden door and iron grill will be replaced and preserved.
The Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) is managing the project.
