Jamia Students Protest Admission Lapses, Demand Probe, Controller’s Resignation

Students at Jamia Millia Islamia protested about what they say were problems with admissions.

They were concerned about the spot-registration process for the 2026–27 academic year.

Several student groups joined the march to the office of the Dean of Students’ Welfare.

They want an independent and fair investigation.

They also want the Controller of Examinations to resign.

The groups asked the university to cancel campus bans on protesting students.

The university said most of the admission concerns had already been addressed.

It also said its admission process was transparent and that the suspensions were nearly finished.
