Tripura Cabinet Approves Schemes for Girl Child Welfare, Women Entrepreneurs, and Minorities
The government in Tripura has decided to start three new programs.
One is to help girls by giving them money that they will get when they turn 18, but only if they haven't gotten married before then.
This is to stop girls from getting married too young.
Another program will help women who want to start businesses by giving them loans and a little extra help.
The third program is for people from religious minority groups, giving them money to start small businesses like raising chickens or cows.
They also decided to hire new managers for the electricity company.
Tripura cabinet approved three welfare schemes on Tuesday.
The Chief Minister’s Balika Samriddhi Yojana aims to curb child marriage by providing financial incentives to girls who marry after 18.
A scheme for women entrepreneurs offers loans up to Rs 1 crore with a 5% higher subsidy than male counterparts.
Sankhalaghu Unnayan Prakalpa, with a Rs 1.5 crore allocation, will provide Rs 10,000 grants to religious minorities for small enterprises.
