Scottish Parliament Supports Tibetan Religious Freedom

The Scottish government has voiced its support for Tibetan Buddhists and their right to choose the next Dalai Lama.

They are worried that China might try to pick the next Dalai Lama, which they think is wrong.

A government official said they believe the Tibetan people should be able to make this decision themselves, without any outside help.

They are also aware of China's past actions, like taking a young religious leader decades ago and replacing him.

The Scottish government celebrates the contributions of the Buddhist community in Scotland.

They believe in religious freedom and human rights for everyone.
