Punjab Orders Repainting of 852 Schools in Yellow and Blue
The Punjab government has ordered the repainting of 852 schools across the state in shades of yellow and blue.
The outer parts of the schools will be painted in 'egg custard' and 'enamel rhapsody' shades, while the inside walls will be painted in 'enamel bronze mist' and 'Sea Oats'.
The opposition parties have alleged that these colors are similar to the colors of the ruling Aam Aadmi Party's (AAP) flag.
The government has allocated Rs 17.44 crore for this project and has stated that the choice of colors is not politically motivated.
The opposition, however, has criticized the move, calling it an attempt to impose the party's identity on educational institutions.
Punjab DGSE ordered repainting of 852 government schools in yellow and blue shades.
Outer buildings to be painted in 'egg custard' and 'enamel rhapsody', inner walls in 'enamel bronze mist' and 'Sea Oats'.
Rs 17.44 crore allocated for the project, funded entirely by the state budget.
Opposition parties allege the colors resemble AAP's flag, calling it politically motivated.
Government officials deny political intent, stating the choice was made for aesthetic and formal reasons.
