Manipal Health Uses IPO Proceeds to Clear Debt, Expand

Manipal Health used money from its IPO to repay ₹5,310 crore of debt.

The payment included the main debt amount, interest and some repayment charges.

The company says having less debt will reduce its interest expenses.

It also says this will leave more money available for building hospitals and buying technology.

Manipal Hospitals operates 50 multispecialty hospitals with more than 13,000 beds.

In the latest quarter, the company’s revenue and operating profit grew.

However, its final profit was lower than in the same quarter last year.

Its shares closed at ₹736.55, up 2.08%.
