JKSA Appeals to Amit Shah Over Attacks on Kashmiri Vendors in Himachal
Some Kashmiri shawl sellers in Himachal Pradesh have been attacked and harassed.
One seller, Jehangir Ahmad, was recently assaulted.
The Jammu and Kashmir Students' Association (JKSA) has written to the Home Minister, Amit Shah, saying that these attacks have been happening a lot and the government is not doing enough to stop them.
They say that 18 such incidents have happened this year alone.
The JKSA is worried that these attacks are making Kashmiri students and traders feel scared and unsafe.
They want the government to take action and protect Kashmiri citizens, who are equal citizens of India.
Kashmiri shawl seller Jehangir Ahmad was allegedly assaulted in Dehra, Kangra district, Himachal Pradesh.
JKSA reports 18 incidents of assault, intimidation, and harassment of Kashmiri vendors in Himachal Pradesh this year.
JKSA alleges ineffective action by authorities, including delayed FIR registration and lack of arrests.
The association claims many Kashmiri students and traders are living in fear and some have left the state.
JKSA urges Home Minister Amit Shah to seek a detailed report from Himachal Pradesh authorities on the incidents and actions taken.
