BMC to Frame Policy for Redevelopment of Stalled Municipal Markets

Big cities have old markets where people buy food and other things.

Some of these markets in Mumbai are very old and need fixing.

One of them is called Savarkar Market, and it is 46 years old.

The people in charge of the city, called the BMC, decided the market needs big repairs.

The repairs will cost about Rs 2.46 crore, which is a lot of money.

Some leaders said the market needs fixing now instead of waiting.

The leaders are also planning a special meeting about redeveloping the old markets.

At the meeting, they will decide how to make the markets better and earn money for the city.

They want the markets to have things like car parking and cold storage to keep food fresh.

The goal is to make sure traders and shoppers have good places to buy and sell things.
