Mahanagar Gas Profit Falls 39% to ₹192.64 Crore FY27
Mahanagar Gas Limited is a company that sells gas in India.
In the first quarter of its 2027 financial year, it made less money than it did the same time last year, losing about 39% of its profit.
Even though it sold more gas and earned more money, its costs went up even more, so the profit fell.
The company also bought a 26% share in another gas company called FPEL Reliant Energy and put almost ₹4 crore into it.
It also invested about ₹84 crore in a company called 3EV Industries.
The company announced these numbers in a meeting in Mumbai on July 30, 2026.
The results show that while sales grew, expenses grew faster, leading to a lower profit.
Consolidated net profit for Q1 FY27 dropped 39% to ₹192.64 crore from ₹318.58 crore YoY.
Revenue from operations rose 13.92% YoY to ₹2,598.90 crore, up 15.05% QoQ.
Total expenses increased to ₹2,371.01 crore from ₹1,882.05 crore YoY.
Mahanagar Gas acquired a 26% equity stake in FPEL Reliant Energy on 9 March 2026 and invested ₹3.89 crore in the quarter.
The company invested ₹83.99 crore in 3EV Industries, holding a 26.13% equity stake.
