Ratcliffe’s Moscow Visit Revives Questions About U.S.-Russia Warnings

CIA Director John Ratcliffe secretly traveled from the United States to Moscow.

He stayed there for about four hours, but officials have not explained why he went.

Almost five years earlier, another CIA director, William Burns, visited Moscow.

Burns warned that Russia appeared ready to invade Ukraine.

Russia invaded Ukraine anyway in February 2022.

Some former intelligence officials think Ratcliffe may have carried a new warning.

Others think he may have discussed Ukraine, Iran, or other issues with Russian officials.

It is still unknown whether Ratcliffe met Vladimir Putin or whether Putin will react differently this time.
