Plandari Protests Expand as JAAC Plans March to Muzaffarabad

Thousands of people gathered in Plandari in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.

They supported a group called the Jammu Kashmir Joint Awami Action Committee, or JAAC.

The protesters said they wanted better civil rights and governance.

They also paid tribute to people who died during recent crackdowns.

Some protesters shouted slogans against the Pakistan Rangers and the federal government.

The JAAC said the protests were spreading beyond Rawalakot.

It plans to restart a sit-in in Rawalakot and organize a march to Muzaffarabad.

Intelligence sources cited in the report said the protests could show serious public anger toward Islamabad.
