Dengue Outbreak Worsens in Bangladesh, Death Toll Reaches 326
A mosquito-borne illness called dengue is making more people sick in Bangladesh.
Sadly, 326 people have died from it this year, and in just one day, three more people passed away.
Over 82,000 people have gotten sick with dengue in 2025.
Health officials say that while more people are getting sick than last year, the number of people dying compared to those who get sick is actually lower.
They also say that people need to be careful about mosquito bites and get to a doctor quickly if they feel sick.
Many people who die from dengue get very sick very fast, so going to the doctor early is super important to help them get better.
The dengue outbreak in Bangladesh has worsened, with the death toll rising to 326.
In the 24 hours leading up to Thursday morning, three new deaths and 833 new cases were reported.
The total number of dengue cases in 2025 has reached 82,606.
Health officials emphasize the importance of preventing mosquito breeding, using mosquito nets, and seeking early medical care.
While the number of infections is higher than last year, the death rate in proportion to cases is reportedly lower.
