Colgate-Palmolive India Faces Rs 268-Crore Tax Demand
Colgate-Palmolive India, a big company that makes toothpaste and other products, got a big tax bill from the government.
The bill is for Rs 267.64 crore for the year 2022.
The government said this because they think the company didn't pay enough tax on some of its money that was sent to other countries.
The company says this won't affect its money or how it works.
They plan to fight this decision in court.
The company's stock has been going down in the last month and this year.
But the company made a lot of money last year, Rs 1,50,724 lakh from selling things and Rs 32,062 lakh in profit.
Colgate-Palmolive India received a Rs 267.64 crore income tax demand for FY22.
The demand arises from transfer pricing adjustments and disallowance of certain expenses.
The company plans to appeal the order before the Income Tax Appellate Tribunal (ITAT).
The tax demand will not impact the company's financials, operations, or other activities.
Colgate-Palmolive India's share price has declined by 3.64% in the last month and 22.69% in 2025.
