Bombay HC Halts Ambernath Alliance Decisions
The Bombay High Court has temporarily stopped the Thane district collector from making decisions about which political groups can work together in the Ambernath municipal council.
The court wants the collector to carefully think about the issue and make a fair decision.
There are three main groups involved: the Ambernath Vikas Aghadi (AVA), which includes the BJP, Congress, and some NCP members; the Shinde Sena; and the NCP led by Ajit Pawar.
The court noticed that some members keep switching sides, which is causing confusion.
The court has asked the collector to make a decision within 21 days and has also said that the subject committees, which handle important things like health and education, will not be formed for 15 days after the collector's decision.
This is to make sure everyone has a fair chance to be heard.
