Debate on Renaming Delhi as Indraprastha
People are talking about changing Delhi's name to Indraprastha, which makes some people feel proud of their history.
But others say that just changing the name won't fix Delhi's big problems, like really bad air pollution.
Some smart people, like a judge and a famous leader named B.R. Ambedkar, think India should have another capital in the south, called Dakshinprastha.
This new capital would be better for the environment and help spread out the country's important work.
Places like Hyderabad, Amaravati, and others are being considered for this new capital.
The idea is to make sure India's government can work well and keep people healthy for many years to come.
Debate on renaming Delhi as Indraprastha is ongoing, with some supporting the historical significance and others questioning its practical benefits.
Delhi faces severe environmental issues, including hazardous air quality, which the Supreme Court has highlighted.
Proposal for a southern capital, Dakshinprastha, is gaining traction to address Delhi's environmental challenges and create a more climate-resilient administrative center.
B.R. Ambedkar previously advocated for Hyderabad as India's second capital, citing its central location and administrative infrastructure.
Potential locations for Dakshinprastha include Hyderabad, Amaravati, Donakonda, Coimbatore, Tiruchirapalli, Bengaluru, Mysuru, Thiruvananthapuram, and Kochi.
