Nine Jharkhand Ultras Surrender with AK-47s and Ammunition
Imagine a group of people who were causing trouble decided to give up their fight.
In India, some militants from a group called JJMP, who had been causing problems in a place called Jharkhand, gave themselves up to the police.
They also handed over their weapons, like AK-47 rifles.
This was a big deal because it was the largest group of JJMP members to surrender together in this area.
The police think this surrender is a big win against the group.
The surrenders happened because the police were working hard to stop them and the government offered help to those who gave up their weapons.
Several leaders were among those who surrendered.
Nine JJMP militants surrendered to authorities in Jharkhand.
Four sub-zonal commanders with high bounties were among the surrendered.
The militants handed over weapons, including five AK-47 rifles and ammunition.
Police believe the surrender effectively eliminates JJMP in the Latehar region.
The surrender follows arrests and operations against JJMP in recent months.
