REC Sanctions Record Rs 7,500 Crore for Brookfield's Hybrid Renewable Project
Imagine a big company called Brookfield wants to build a giant power plant that uses wind and sunshine to make electricity.
They need a lot of money to build it, almost 10,000 crore rupees!
A government group called REC is giving them a huge amount of money, 7,500 crore rupees, which is the most money REC has ever given to one private company project.
This power plant will be in a place called Kurnool and will have wind turbines and solar panels.
The government is happy because this helps make their state a leader in clean energy, creates jobs, and makes sure they have enough power for the future.
Brookfield is planning even more clean energy projects in the area.
REC has sanctioned Rs 7,500 crore for Brookfield's 1,040 MW hybrid renewable energy project in Kurnool.
The project includes 640 MW of wind and 400 MW of solar capacity.
This is the single largest REC sanction to a private-sector project ever.
The project is developed by Evren, a clean-energy platform by Brookfield and Axis Energy.
The funding supports Andhra Pradesh's goal to become a renewable energy hub.
