Bihar Braces for Floods After Nepal Flash Flood Destruction

Bihar Braces for Floods After Nepal Flash Flood Destruction

A sudden flood happened after water burst out from a glacial lake in Tibet.

The flood rushed into the Bhote-Koshi River in Nepal.

Water levels also rose in the Trishuli River basin.

These rivers connect to the Gandak River system, which flows toward Bihar.

Bihar officials are worried that the extra water could cause flooding.

They opened all 36 gates at the Valmikinagar barrage to prepare.

A technical team was sent to watch the barrage closely.

Bihar’s disaster response force is also ready to help if flooding worsens.
