NHRC Chief Highlights Violence Against Women Statistics
Imagine that every hour in India, about 51 reports are made about bad things happening to women.
The head of a special group, the NHRC, is worried about this.
They held a meeting to talk about how to make women safer, both at work and in public places.
They said we need to teach people more about respecting women, make sure the laws are followed better, and change how things work so women are safer.
Some experts at the meeting said that just knowing the law isn't enough; we also need to change how people act and think to help women.
