Bombay High Court Stays Vashi Ward Election
A man named Nilesh Bhojane wanted to run for office in a place called Vashi.
But someone said he did something wrong and his papers were not accepted.
He went to a big court and said it was not fair.
The court said they would look into it and stopped the election for now.
Another man named Kishor Patkar said the election should not be stopped.
The court will decide more on January 9.
Bombay High Court stayed the election for Ward No. 17-A of the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation.
BJP candidate Nilesh Chhaburao Bhojane's nomination was rejected due to allegations of unauthorized construction.
Bhojane argued that the legal provision used for rejection does not apply to candidates.
Shiv Sena district chief Kishor Patkar opposed the plea, stating that elections should not be impeded.
The court noted that interference in a specific ward is different from impeding the entire election process.
