Delhi's Air Quality Deteriorates to Severe Levels
Delhi's air quality has become very bad, reaching levels that are harmful to health.
The air quality index (AQI) in many areas is in the 'severe' category, which means it can make people sick, especially children and older adults.
The city is covered in thick smog, which also reduces visibility.
Neighboring cities like Ghaziabad and Noida are also affected.
The government has formed a special team of experts to find ways to reduce pollution from vehicles.
The team has two months to come up with solutions.
People are advised to stay indoors as much as possible to avoid the bad air.
Delhi's overall AQI reached 387-397, bordering the 'severe' category.
Wazirpur recorded the highest AQI at 443-445, with other areas like Jahangirpuri and Vivek Vihar also in the 'severe' range.
Neighboring cities Ghaziabad and Noida recorded AQI levels of 422, both in the 'severe' range.
Thick smog and fog reduced visibility, affecting daily life and posing health risks, especially for vulnerable groups.
