Telangana BJP Criticizes Congress Protest Against Election Chief

The Congress held a protest in Hyderabad against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.

It objected to parts of the voter-list revision process called SIR and to Form-6 issues.

The Congress asked Kumar to resign.

The Telangana BJP said the process follows laws, court rulings and explanations from the Election Commission.

BJP leaders said claims of “vote theft” were misleading.

They also rejected the claim that 13 crore eligible voters had been removed.

The BJP accused the Telangana government of treating Opposition protests differently from Congress-backed demonstrations.

The two parties therefore disagree about both the voter-list process and the police response to protests.
