Environment Geography Quiz Covers Lakes, Passes, Birds and Solar Power
This quiz helps students revise environment and geography topics for the UPSC examination.
A barrier lake forms when a landslide blocks a river and traps water.
If the barrier breaks, the released water can cause a dangerous flood.
Dolma La is a very high mountain pass in Tibet near Mount Kailash.
The quiz also discusses a reported order to call Lake Ontario “Lake America.”
Black-necked storks are daytime birds that live and feed in wetlands.
Researchers found four breeding pairs of these birds in Gujarat during 2024-25.
India’s floating solar projects place solar panels on water, while some other solar parks are built on land.
Barrier or landslide lakes form when debris blocks a river and can cause landslide lake outburst floods.
Dolma La Pass, at 5,630 metres, lies in Tibet’s Kailash region along the Kailash–Mansarovar route.
US President Donald Trump signed an order to rename Lake Ontario as “Lake America.”
Black-necked storks have scattered breeding populations, and four pairs raised fledglings in Gujarat during 2024-25.
India’s floating solar projects include Omkareshwar, Kayamkulam and Ramagundam, while Dholera and Nokh are ground-mounted.
