Parliament Passes Bill to Stop Exam Paper Leaks
India’s Parliament has passed a new law that stops people from cheating on exams by leaking answer sheets.
The law was approved by both houses of Parliament.
Some opposition politicians walked out of the debate, saying they had problems with the law.
The government said the walkout was irresponsible and that the opposition had no real issues.
The bill will now go to the President for final approval.
The Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Amendment Bill, 2026 was passed by both houses of Parliament.
Opposition parties, including Congress, walked out during the debate, which the government called irresponsible.
Union Minister JP Nadda condemned the walkout and said the opposition had become “issue‑less.”
Union Minister Jitendra Singh highlighted the bill’s aim to curb paper‑leak scandals and protect students’ futures.
The bill will now be sent to President Droupadi Murmu for assent.
