Tamil Nadu wind power output rises as July-August generation surges

Tamil Nadu makes electricity from wind turbines.

During April, May and June, the turbines produced less power than they had the year before.

Stronger winds in July and August changed that trend.

July production increased by 11 percent.

August production rose by almost 43 percent.

One day in August set a new daily production record.

The strong two-month performance lifted total wind generation above last year's level.

Renewable-energy producers want the state to make it easier to build more wind and solar projects.
