Nepal Insurers Face Record Claims After Protests
Recently, there were some protests in Nepal, and unfortunately, a lot of buildings and businesses were damaged.
Because of this, insurance companies are now dealing with a HUGE amount of claims – it's the most they've ever seen from a single event!
The total amount of money being claimed is almost 21 billion Nepalese Rupees.
That's more than they had to pay out after the big earthquake a few years ago!
Some of the damaged places include hotels, stores, and even a telecommunications company headquarters.
The insurance companies are working hard to figure out how much it will cost to fix everything.
Gen-Z protests in Nepal caused extensive property damage.
Non-life insurers have received record claims, totaling nearly NPR 21 billion.
The Nepal Insurance Authority released the claims data.
Claims surpass those from the 2015 earthquake and COVID-19 pandemic.
Oriental Insurance Company Limited received the largest amount of claims.
