UPI Turns Ten as Modi Hails Major Turning Point

UPI is a system that helps people make digital payments in India.

It has now been used publicly for 10 years.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi called its development a major turning point.

The National Payments Corporation of India officially launched UPI on August 25, 2016.

Before that, 21 banks tested it in a pilot project in April 2016.

The Reserve Bank of India supervised the system’s regulation.

Over time, UPI became one of India’s most widely used ways to pay.

However, some questions about how its business model works are still unanswered.
