Assam Launches SMS Alerts for Student Absenteeism
The Assam government has started a new system to help schools and parents keep track of students who are not going to school.
If a student is absent for five days in a row, the school will send SMS messages to the student's teachers and parents.
These messages will be in different languages and will remind them to make sure the student goes back to school.
This is to help students stay in school and learn better.
Assam's Department of School Education launched an automated SMS alert system to track student absenteeism.
Alerts are triggered after 5 consecutive days of absence and sent to both teachers and parents.
Messages are sent in five official languages to ensure wider reach.
The initiative aims to reduce student absenteeism and prevent dropouts.
Teachers receive detailed messages with student information, while parents get concise reminders.
