Darjeeling Himalayan Railway Sees Revenue and Passenger Growth

The Darjeeling Himalayan Railway, a famous toy train and UNESCO World Heritage Site, has seen more people riding it and making more money in the first nine months of this year compared to last year.

The railway earned about ₹19.29 crore and had around 1.64 lakh passengers from April to December 2025.

This is higher than the ₹16.73 crore and 1.39 lakh passengers from the same time last year.

The railway offers regular services between New Jalpaiguri and Darjeeling, as well as 12 daily joy rides between Darjeeling and Ghoom.

They also introduced new services like a Jungle Safari and trips from Kurseong to Darjeeling.

The railway officials say that adding new attractions and services has helped increase the number of visitors and earnings.
