Jharkhand Student Leader Devendra Mahto Seeks to Leave Hospital

A student leader named Devendra Mahto in Jharkhand, India, is on a hunger strike, which means he is refusing to eat food to ask for justice.

He is protesting for the future, rights, and justice of students and young people.

Thousands of students and youth are standing with him in this struggle.

During a protest march toward the Legislative Assembly, the police used batons in what is called a lathi-charge, and there was a scuffle.

Mahto was injured and taken to the hospital in an ambulance.

He is now being treated at Sadar Hospital.

Even though he is in the hospital, he wants to keep protesting.

He wrote an application asking to leave the hospital because he says his soul and resolve are still at the protest site.

He says the hunger strike will continue until complete justice is given to the students.

The article does not say whether his request to leave the hospital was approved.
