Bidhannagar Police Conducts Safety Session for Hospital Nurses
Nurses at several hospitals learned about their legal rights and workplace safety.
The Bidhannagar Police taught them about new laws that protect them from things like sexual harassment and domestic violence.
They also learned how to report crimes and what to expect if they need police help, like how they can file a complaint even if it happened outside their area.
The police want to make sure nurses feel safe and know how to protect themselves at work.
Bidhannagar Police organized a women's safety awareness session for nurses.
The session, titled “Ensuring safety & security at workplace,” covered legal provisions, including the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
Key topics included sections of the BNS concerning sexual harassment, assault, voyeurism, and stalking.
Nurses were informed about the Domestic Violence Act 2005 and the Pocso Act.
Police emphasized nurses' rights and provided guidance on filing complaints, arrests, and reporting procedures.
