Activists Seek Bus Links for New Beed-Pune Train
A new train now runs every day between Beed and Pune.
The railway station is several kilometres away from many parts of Beed.
Local activists say people may have to pay expensive fares to reach it.
They want public buses to carry passengers to and from the station.
The activists sent this request to government officials and transport authorities.
They suggested five starting routes across the city.
They also want buses to return after trains arrive.
This could make train travel easier and less expensive for commuters.
The daily Beed-Pune train service began on Wednesday.
Activists are seeking city buses connecting Beed Railway Station with major parts of the city.
They submitted a memorandum to state officials, elected representatives and the MSRTC.
The activists say commuters may face high private transport fares because the station is several kilometres from central areas.
