Sapkal Says Youth Will Not Back Down Despite Cases

Congress leader Harshwardhan Sapkal said many young people are unhappy with the BJP governments in Maharashtra and at the national level.

He said some young people are facing cases after speaking out, but that this would not stop them.

A protest in Mumbai called for the chief election commissioner to resign over alleged problems with voter lists.

Sapkal also pointed to a march by tribal students and protests by students in Pune.

Those Pune students want a change in leadership at the state public service commission, he said.

Sapkal criticized the government for not responding to their demand.

He also said farmers affected by drought were hoping for help.

On elections for the Maharashtra Legislative Council, he said the opposition alliance was working together.
