TCS Builds AI Governance Layer as Enterprise Demand Grows
Tata Consultancy Services is building a system to help companies manage many AI tools in one place.
These tools may be made by TCS, the companies themselves, or other technology providers.
The system is meant to help companies keep track of safety, security, and costs.
TCS says its AI business had more than $3 billion in annualised revenue in the September quarter.
That was about one-tenth of its revenue, and $500 million more than the previous quarter.
TCS is also planning a data centre in Hyderabad.
It is looking at other possible locations, but wants to get the Hyderabad centre running first.
The company has not named any customers committed to the planned facility.
TCS is developing a governance layer to coordinate and manage AI agents across enterprise applications.
The control plane is intended to help businesses oversee security, costs and deployment of in-house and third-party agents.

AI revenue rose by $500 million from the previous quarter, with banking, manufacturing, and life sciences and healthcare among the leading growth areas.
