Warriors Sign Brandin Podziemski to Five-Year, $110 Million Extension
The Golden State Warriors have agreed to a new contract with Brandin Podziemski.
It will pay him $110 million over five years.
He is 23 and will stay with the team beyond next summer.
He will finish his current rookie contract this season before the new deal starts.
The contract has a special clause that could add money if he is traded.
The Warriors say the deal still leaves them room to make other team changes next summer.
Podziemski played every game last season and scored more points per game than in his earlier seasons.
He is expected to start beside Stephen Curry this season.
Golden State agreed to a fully guaranteed five-year, $110 million extension with guard Brandin Podziemski.
The deal keeps the 23-year-old with the Warriors beyond next summer and removes him from restricted free agency.
Podziemski will earn $5.6 million this season; his extension begins with a projected first-year salary of $18.9 million.
The Warriors could still have $55 million to $60 million in cap space next summer, according to the report.
Podziemski appeared in all 82 games last season, averaging a career-high 13.8 points per game.
