BJP-Shiv Sena Seat-Sharing Talks Fail Again
The BJP and Shiv Sena (Shinde) had a long meeting to decide who gets to run for how many seats in the upcoming elections.
They couldn't agree on a few seats, so they asked their top leaders to make the final decision.
Meanwhile, in Jalgaon, some people complained that the meeting happened in a place where it's not allowed during election time.
One leader from Shiv Sena (Shinde) even left the meeting upset because the BJP wasn't giving them more seats.
BJP and Shiv Sena (Shinde) failed to reach a seat-sharing agreement after a 5-hour meeting in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar.
The BJP proposed 47 seats for themselves and 43 for Shiv Sena (Shinde), but disagreements persisted over 8-10 seats.
The matter has been referred to senior leaders, including Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.
In Jalgaon, a meeting between the parties sparked controversy as it was held during the model code of conduct.
Shiv Sena (Shinde) leader Gulabrao Patil left the Jalgaon meeting abruptly after the BJP refused to allocate more seats.
