US condemns South Africa over detention of officials
The U.S. government is upset because some of its officials were briefly held in South Africa.
The U.S. says these officials were helping a minority group called Afrikaners.
South Africa says it didn't arrest any U.S. officials but did arrest seven people from Kenya who were working illegally.
The U.S. is also mad because it says South Africa shared the passports of its officials, which the U.S. thinks is not nice.
South Africa says it doesn't know about this.
The U.S. wants to bring many white South Africans to the U.S. because it thinks they are being treated badly because of their race, but South Africa says this isn't true.
Two U.S. officials were briefly detained in South Africa and later released.
South Africa denies arresting U.S. officials, stating seven Kenyan nationals were arrested for illegal work.
The U.S. condemns the detention, calling it harassment and a violation of duties.
