Trinamul Congress Leader Resigns as Civic Chief
A senior leader named Rabindranath Ghosh stepped down from his job as the head of the Cooch Behar Municipality.
He did this because another important leader in his party, Abhishek Banerjee, asked him to.
Ghosh said he will now work harder to make his party stronger.
He also denied any wrongdoing in his previous role.
This change is important because it shows the party's central leadership is taking more control, especially in a key area for upcoming elections.
Rabindranath Ghosh resigned as Chairman of Cooch Behar Municipality following instructions from Abhishek Banerjee.
Ghosh denied any corruption allegations during his tenure as municipal chairman.
The resignation comes ahead of Abhishek Banerjee's scheduled visit to Cooch Behar on 13 January.
Ghosh had earlier resisted stepping down and accused some party leaders of conspiring against him.
The move underscores the central leadership's tightening grip on organizational discipline in Cooch Behar.
