Cabinet Approves Bihar Highway Four-Laning to Nepal Border

India’s Cabinet has approved a plan to make an important highway in Bihar four lanes wide.

The road will run between Muzaffarpur, Sitamarhi and Sonbarsa near the Nepal border.

The project will cost about Rs 3,590.73 crore.

Officials say the wider road will reduce traffic jams and make travel safer.

It should also help trucks carry goods more quickly.

The road will connect businesses, railway stations, markets and the Nepal border.

It will include bridges, railway overbridges and flyovers.

The government also expects it to help tourism, farming and trade.

The project will be built using the Hybrid Annuity Mode.
