Kailash Pilgrimage Survivor Reflects on Timure Flood

Kailash Pilgrimage Survivor Reflects on Timure Flood

A group travelled from Nepal to Mount Kailash and Mansarovar for a religious pilgrimage.

They crossed difficult mountain roads and faced cold weather and high altitude.

They stayed in Timure, Nepal, near the border immigration office.

They returned through Timure on August 12.

Twelve days later, a huge flood badly damaged the same area.

People died, and many families lost homes and livelihoods.

The writer feels thankful that the group returned safely.

They believe Mahadev protected them and pray for the people affected.
