Coca-Cola Loses Market Share in India

Coca-Cola Loses Market Share in India

Coca-Cola lost market share in India during the April-June quarter.

This happened because of three main reasons: when they invested, their efforts to make drinks more affordable, and the mix of markets they operate in.

They introduced cheaper versions of their drinks to compete with Reliance's Campa Cola, which has been very successful in India.

Coca-Cola is also investing in better equipment and capabilities to engage more consumers.

Despite this, their overall revenue grew by 7% to $13.4 billion, and their volume grew by 5% in markets like India, China, the US, and Brazil.

Reliance's Campa Cola achieved significant sales, and Varun Beverages, which bottles PepsiCo's drinks in India, also saw growth but missed some financial estimates.
