Jos Buttler backs teen Sooryavanshi to break all-time T20 record
Jos Buttler is a famous cricket player from England.
He now holds the record for the most runs ever scored in T20 cricket, a short and fast version of the game.
He beat the old record held by Kieron Pollard.
Buttler reached the milestone while playing for Manchester Super Giants in a competition called The Hundred.
He scored 51 runs from just 20 balls in that match.
Buttler said it is a really cool and proud moment to have the most T20 runs of anyone.
He thinks an Indian teenager named Vaibhav Sooryavanshi will probably break his record one day.
Sooryavanshi is a young star who scores runs very quickly and recently won the IPL Orange Cap.
Some news reports do not agree on a few of the numbers in the record, like how many fifties Buttler has scored.
Jos Buttler became the all-time leading run-scorer in T20 cricket, surpassing Kieron Pollard with a new tally of 14,833 runs.
He set the record with a 51-run knock off 20 balls for Manchester Super Giants against Welsh Fire in The Hundred on Wednesday.
Buttler told Sky Cricket that Indian teenager Vaibhav Sooryavanshi will 'probably' one day surpass his record.
Sooryavanshi won the Orange Cap in IPL 2026 with 776 runs from 16 matches and has 1,670 runs in 40 T20s.
Sources differ on some stats: one article gives Pollard 14,562 runs, and Buttler's fifties tally varies between 27, 105, and 106.
