Bidar Minister Urges Officials to Stop Distress Migration
The government in Bidar, a district in Karnataka, is worried that people might leave their homes because of bad weather and not enough jobs.
The minister, Eshwar Khandre, told local officials to stop this by giving people work, making sure everyone has water at home, and giving farmers the fertilizer they need.
He also said farmers should be able to sign up for crop insurance without any problems.
The goal is to keep people in their homes and help the local economy.
Bidar district in-charge Eshwar Khandre warned officials to curb distress migration.
He emphasized using VBG Ramji scheme employment to prevent migration.
Khandre directed officials to ensure tap water connections in 644 villages are functional.
He ordered uninterrupted supply of DAP and other fertilizers to farmers.
Officials must facilitate crop insurance enrollment without turning farmers away.
