Kolkata Fire: 25 Dead, Arrests Made
A big fire in Kolkata killed 25 people.
The police arrested two managers from Wow Momo and the owner of a nearby warehouse.
The fire started at the warehouse, not at Wow Momo.
The government and a human rights group are investigating to find out who is responsible.
The owner of the warehouse says it was not his fault, but the managers from Wow Momo say it was.
A protest is planned because some people think the government did not do enough to prevent the fire.
The warehouse was rented to Wow Momo by a decorator's company, and no safety checks were done.
The death toll from the Kolkata warehouse fire has risen to 25, with rescue operations concluding.
Kolkata Police arrested the manager and deputy manager of Wow Momo's factory-cum-warehouse, along with the owner of the adjacent Pushpanjali Decorators' warehouse.
Preliminary reports indicate the fire originated from the Pushpanjali warehouse, not the Wow Momo factory.
The NHRC has taken suo motu cognizance of the incident, alleging criminal negligence and regulatory failures.
The BJP plans a protest rally in Anandapur, initially denied permission but later granted by the Calcutta High Court.
