Manipur District Faces Triple Outbreak as Hospitals Overcrowd

Churachandpur is seeing more cases of three illnesses: dengue, typhoid and scrub typhus.

Many of the sick people are children with high fevers.

More than 100 children reportedly tested positive for dengue.

Hospitals are crowded and do not have enough space in their children's wards.

Officials may use other hospital wards to care for children.

Schools will stay closed until August 31 to help reduce the spread of infections.

Recent rain may have helped create conditions for some infections to spread.

People are being asked to remove stagnant water, use mosquito nets, drink safe water and seek medical care for serious fevers.
